The title is unfortunate. I looked at the article because I assumed "drops sanctions" meant "stopped enforcing sanctions". The article makes clear the opposite happened - somehow US sanctions will be applied to another Russian Internet business.
I can't believe that an established news outlet like The Register, a stodgy, English, institution with a reputation akin to that of NYT except for the Internet, would stoop to clickbaiting.
