I built a DIY wireless datalogging platform called Monolith for Formula Student racing cars.

It is a combination of an open source credit-card sized hardware and a web client software.

The device can read CAN bus traffic, GPS signals, on-board IMU data and digital/analog inputs, and store them on SD card.

It can also wirelessly transmit real-time data, download stored records, and be reconfigured via the MQTT protocol.

All you need is the device, an MQTT broker and the self-hostable web client. (A driver and a car, too!)

The device's internet connection is provided by the Wi-Fi hotspot network of the driver's phone.
